Google has released Gemini 3, its newest AI model, and it’s already being used in AI Mode inside Google Search. Sundar Pichai said that Google is rolling out Gemini 3 across products, including AI Mode in Search, which will now offer better reasoning and more dynamic experiences. He also noted that this is the first time Google has launched a new Gemini model in Search on the same day it was released.

With Gemini 3 now powering AI Mode, users will see new types of results, such as richer visual layouts, interactive tools, and on-the-spot simulations based on what you search for, Google explained.

This means Search will intelligently route your most challenging questions in AI Mode and AI Overviews to this frontier model — while continuing to use faster models for simpler tasks. This will be rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S.””

Gemini 3 in AI Mode helps create clearer and more useful AI results. It gives more helpful answers, responds faster and more accurately to your questions, and Google says more updates are coming in the next few weeks. These changes will affect not just AI Mode but also AI Overviews, mainly focusing on when and how Google shows these features in Search.
