Just when it seemed that Google Search ranking changes were starting to settle down, another major spike in volatility appeared on June 2, 2026.
The Google May 2026 Core Update was announced on May 21, and significant ranking changes were seen over the following weekends. However, another strong increase in movement was reported on Tuesday, June 2.
The update was expected to take up to two weeks to complete, so it appeared that Google might have been making one final round of significant changes before the rollout ended.
Update: The Google May 2026 Core Update has now officially finished rolling out, just about an hour after this report was published.
