Today is Google I/O, Google’s annual event where the company announces new features and updates across its products, including Google Search.
Google Search ranking changes often increase around this event, and that appears to be happening again today.

To be clear, Google has not announced an official Google Search ranking update. However, unconfirmed changes are also monitored, and the current ranking fluctuations appear to fall into that category for now.
As a reminder, the March 2026 Core Update began on March 27 and was completed on April 8, 2026. The ongoing issue with pages not being indexed also continues, with more websites reporting an increase in pages marked “Crawled – currently not indexed.”
There have been several other periods of unconfirmed ranking changes in recent months, including on May 13–14, May 8, April 27–28, and April 23.
The most recent unconfirmed changes began around May 13 and appeared to continue until last Friday.
