Google’s May 2026 Core Update has officially finished rolling out. Google confirmed the completion on X, and the Search Status Dashboard was also updated.

The update took less than 12 days to complete and appeared to have a greater overall impact than the previous March 2026 Core Update.

Significant changes in Google Search rankings were reported throughout the rollout. Ranking activity increased during the weekend following the update’s announcement, became even stronger the following weekend, and then spiked again on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, just before Google confirmed that the update had finished rolling out.

Google originally said “This is a regular update designed to better surface relevant, satisfying content for searchers from all types of sites.”
