Microsoft is testing an expanded image search box in Bing Search, giving users new ways to “explore” images more deeply. This test allows you to jump into Bing’s Visual Search, discover related topics and search queries, and find more detailed image results within Bing Image Search.

The test was first spotted by Khushal Bherwani, who shared videos and screenshots on X.

When you hover over an image in this new image box, an “Explore” option appears. I was able to replicate this in one of my browsers, but most of the time, this overlay does not show up, suggesting it’s a limited test for now.

These “Explore” buttons seem to take you into Bing Image Search, but when I tried it, the page just loads blank. That’s likely a sign this is still an early test that’s not fully working yet.
