Google Ads is starting to roll out a new “cost share” toggle in Performance Max (PMax) reporting. This feature shows the share of your campaign’s cost for each channel within PMax.
Thomas Eccel spotted the update and shared it on LinkedIn. He explained that in the PMax Channel Reporting Beta, you can now turn on a “Cost Slider” to see “share of cost” data. Once switched on, the system calculates and displays the cost breakdown by channel.
Thomas also shared a screenshot of the feature in action.

Thomas shared three reasons why this new toggle is useful for advertisers:
- See where your money goes – It shows exactly what percentage of your PMax budget each channel or network is using.
- Spot waste – If a channel is taking a big chunk of the budget but isn’t bringing in enough results, you’ll know it’s time to adjust.
- Find growth opportunities – If a channel is performing really well but only getting a small share of the budget, you might be able to invest more and get extra sales or leads.
